More and more sensors are installed every day in order to improve various aspects of our daily lives. We use sensors everywhere from the air conditioning system in our homes, to the cars we drive, to the complex satellite constellations monitoring our planet's atmosphere and oceans.  Sensors collect a vast amount of data worldwide everyday, but this data is not always easily available and is rarely used to its full potential.

Sensia Software aims at improving access and availability of sensor data using open standards and open source technologies, creating a global and friendly environment where new and existing users can discover and access all kind of sensor information. This "global measurement network" will lead to innovative usage of the data and to develop new applications that were never foreseen at the time the systems were put in place.
