Data Fusion and Visualization

Sensia Software contributes to the Open Source Visualization Toolkit project "Space Time Toolkit".

This innovative toolkit provides building blocks for retrieving data from files and interoperable web services (such as the ones defined by the Open Geospatial Consortium or the Open Grid Forum), designing process chains to manipulate or transform that data and to visualize it in a 4D environment. All these steps can be done in real time by using the latest streaming technologies.

Sensia Software is involved in all aspects of the design of this project and masters the following techniques:

  • Optimized 3D Visualization (OpenGL, Direct3D, GPU programming with shaders)
  • Interactive Volume Rendering
  • Data Formats for Scientific Data (HDF, NetCDF, GRID, McIDAS, ...)
  • Earth Observation Imagery Formats (GeoTiff, JPEG, NITF, ...)
  • Standard Wavelet based Image Compression (JPEG2000)
  • Data Streaming Technologies (JPIP, RTP, XMPP)
  • Online Data Access using interoperable OGC web services (WMS, WCS, WFS, SOS)
  • Online Sensor Tasking and Processing using interoperable OGC web services (WPS, SPS)
